Add the garlic, ginger, paprika, ground cumin, ground coriander, garam masala, turmeric, chilli powder and salt to a small bowl.

Pour in the vegetable oil and lemon juice.

Mix everything together until it forms a smooth, thick paste. Add a small splash of oil or lemon juice if the mixture is too dry.

For a marinade, stir the tandoori paste into plain yogurt until well combined.

Add the chicken and coat them evenly with the marinade.

Cover and refrigerate before cooking, for chicken or meat for several hours for deeper flavour.

Cook in the oven, for about 30-45 minutes and grill it for 5 minutes or on the grill or in a pan until fully cooked and slightly charred around the edges.
