Marry me chicken
Instructions
- 1
Season the chicken breasts generously with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
- 2
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the chicken breasts and cook for several minutes on each side until they develop a golden-brown crust. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
- 3
In the same skillet, add the diced onion and minced garlic. Sauté them gently, stirring occasionally, until they become soft and lightly golden.
- 4
Add the chicken broth, cream, sun-dried tomatoes, and Parmesan cheese to the pan. Stir the ingredients well and allow the sauce to simmer over medium heat for about 5 minutes, or until it begins to thicken slightly.
- 5
Return the chicken breasts to the skillet, ensuring they are coated with the sauce. Cover the pan and let the chicken cook for about 20 minutes, or until it reaches the desired tenderness.
- 6
If needed, adjust the consistency of the sauce by adding a little more chicken broth or cream. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste.
- 7
Just before serving, garnish with freshly chopped basil. If fresh basil is not available, a light sprinkle of dried basil may be used. This dish pairs beautifully with rice, pasta, or warm bread.
