DifficultyEasy
Ingredients
  • 2 lbs extra lean minced meat
  • 1 large onion (sliced into thin strips)
  • 8 buns of brioche
  • 30 grams butter
  • slices of cheddar cheese
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. 1

Start by dividing the minced meat into small balls, about 2–3 ounces each, then season lightly with salt and pepper.

  2. 2

Heat a pan and melt a bit of butter, then place the meat balls in the pan place a few slices of onion on top . Using a burger press, or any heavy round object, press them down firmly into thin patties, making them slightly larger than your buns since they will shrink while cooking

  3. 3

Cook each side for about 2–3 minutes, being careful not to overcook so the meat stays juicy.

  4. 4

Add a slice of cheese on top and let it melt for another minute.

  5. 5

In the same pan, toast the brioche buns until they absorb the rich flavours and develop a light crisp. Spread a generous layer of soufrti burger sauce on the buns, stack the patties, and serve immediately. Bon appétit. You can find the recipe for the soufrti burger sauce in my appetizer section.

Chef's Notes

Dania’s smash burger is the kind of indulgence that speaks for itself from the very first bite. A perfectly seared, juicy patty is pressed hot on the grill to lock in flavour, crowned with rich melted cheese that drapes over every edge. Sweet, slow caramelized onions add depth and warmth, while the crispy brioche buns bring a golden crunch on the outside and a soft, buttery bite within. Finished with a generous layer of soufrti burger sauce, every element comes together in perfect balance savoury, sweet, creamy, and just the right amount of indulgent.
