Ingredients
  • 2 1/2 cup flour
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1/3 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese
  • butter
  • chopped parsley
  • 2 gloves smashed garlic
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. 1

Start by adding the flour into a bowl. Pour in the water and yogurt, then add the salt and instant yeast. Mix everything together until a soft dough forms.

  2. 2

Let the dough rest for 30 minutes to 1 hour, allowing it to rise and become light.

  3. 3

Once ready, divide the dough into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a round shape using a rolling pin. Place mozzarella cheese in the center, close the dough into a ball, then gently roll it out again into a flat round.

  4. 4

Heat a pan over medium heat and add a small amount of oil. Cook each naan for about 5 minutes, flipping as needed until golden and cooked through.

  5. 5

In a separate step, melt butter and mix it with minced garlic and chopped parsley. Brush this mixture generously over the hot naan.

  6. 6

Serve immediately while warm, soft, and filled with melted cheese.

Chef's Notes

In many cultures, naan isn’t just food it’s also used as a utensil to scoop up curries and sauces, replacing forks entirely.
